What parents are saying about Susan

“Susan brought me closer to my daughter and a whole new understanding of being a mother. I think I will thank Susan for the rest of my life because somewhere in my head, she turned a switch. She helped my husband and I slow down and notice things in our child and in ourselves. To speak less and to hear more. It’s almost hard to explain how one woman- Susan Nason- can impart ideas that can change your life this much: I was skeptical myself! But now I can firmly say, you have to meet her!”

“Before Susan’s class, I was not an especially “skilled” parent. I had good intentions, like all of us, but I didn’t have all the tools I needed to best serve my family. Susan’s actionable techniques and effective, participatory workshops helped to reframe my approach to parenting, internalize the interpersonal skills that build quality relationships, and ultimately, have a lot more fun with my kids. Thanks to Susan, parenting feels like less of a chore, and every member of our family has measurably grown in very meaningful ways.”                                                                                                    ~Ashley, mother of 2

“Working with Susan changed the way that I fundamentally think about communications with my children. The techniques that you will learn and practice are literally life savers, and will allow you to take interactions in a completely new direction. She teaches that we are building relationships with our children so that they make the right choices for the rest of their lives and this made a lot of sense to me. She is warm, available and always sensible – like the little fairy you want to have in your head the whole time! Couldn’t recommend working with her highly enough.”                                      ~Anne Valentine Andrews, mother of 4

“Every parent should learn to channel their inner Susan.  It will save a lot of tears on both the parents’ and children’s parts.”

“Hi everyone – just wanted to give some feedback on Susan Nason’s How To Talk seminar. It is like learning a new language and can be life changing for raising young kids. I am not one to go to seminars or take classes on how to raise children, but randomly signed up for this one about 1.5yrs ago. It was amazingggggg and so eye opening. When the six week session was up, we all agreed to do another one on sibling rivalry (even those with single children signed up because it is so helpful with playdates, cousins, etc). And then we continued beyond that for monthly refreshers, which we are still doing.

It’s been such a great experience and I wanted to pass it along in case anyone is thinking about signing up. Please feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions about it.”                                                            ~Katherine, mother of 2

“I wholeheartedly agree with Katherine! Susan Nason’s “How to Talk…” seminar transformed the way I parent. She dispelled the notion that children need to be coached, cajoled, punished, and pushed into reaching their full potential. Instead she taught me to accept, connect, and acknowledge my children to support their journey to self-reliance, confidence, and adulthood.

That’s not to say that it only took a shift in perspective. Parenting is hard work, which is why these courses (I also took the “Sibling” and follow-up courses) and Susan’s wise coaching have been so important. Like Katherine described, the process was akin to learning a new language, and I look forward to the “tune-ups.”

I wish I could go back in time and take Susan’s courses sooner.  Perhaps I would have enjoyed my experience of being a first-time mother more, without worrying so much. I’ve gained confidence that I am not only doing my best, but doing what is best for my children. Susan’s seminars have helped me enjoy more open and loving relationships with my children now and have laid the foundation for the future. My little ones today will be teens tomorrow and then, more than ever, I’ll need to know “How to Talk…”  I encourage each of you to take advantage of this amazing resource!”               ~Havilah mother of 2

Susan’s workshop has been amazing.  When I first read How to Talk, I thought, “I’d really like a study-buddy for this book” – and then I discovered her workshop!  Her insights are incredibly helpful, delivered with her patient and understanding manner.  The book, combined with the workshop, have made me feel successful with my children more than I could have imagined.  Great tools.  I’m hoping that our group keeps meeting forever!”

“The discussions bring some much-needed clarity to the overwhelming demands of parenting.  Help me to focus on the “big picture” while managing the day to day with less stress and fewer regrets.  It’s rare to find parenting advice that doesn’t leave you feeling more guilty and less “adequate” – Susan’s advice and guidance can!”

“After taking Susan’s “How to talk” workshop. Those 6 sessions completely changed the dynamic of our family. Parenting was suddenly much easier, less friction, more collaborative children, a happier home. Susan runs the workshops in such a way that it is very easy to put into practice and incorporate it into our daily lives. As we have revisited later, we always find even more things that we missed before that we are ready for now.
By the way, I thought I was reading a parenting book, however it’s really about communication and it’s applicable to any type of relationship: family, partners, teams and clients. It all revolves around empathy, clarity, transparency and setting clear expectations – it all seems very basic however, somehow when you hear it, it seems like a big discovery. After the “How to talk…” workshop, I also took the Siblings one and have been part of several groups — still getting so much out of them.”                                   ~Fanny Krivoy, mother of 2 boys
